Privacy Policy

Pet HQ ("Pet HQ," "we," "us") is a mobile app for tracking your pets' medication, vet visits, weight, and documents. This policy explains what information Pet HQ collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Our approach

Pet HQ is built to work almost entirely on your device. We do not operate a backend server that stores your pets' records, and we do not use advertising trackers of any kind. We do use a privacy-conscious product analytics tool (Mixpanel) to understand which features people use — see "Product analytics" below for exactly what that covers.

Information we collect

Pet profiles & records

Everything you enter — pet names, breed, birth date, microchip number, allergies, medication logs, vet visits, weight entries, and any documents or photos you attach — is stored locally on your device only. It is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

Emergency contact (optional)

If you add an emergency contact to a pet's profile, that name and phone number is stored locally on your device only, and is never transmitted to us.

Photos & documents

Pet photos and attached documents (vaccination certificates, insurance paperwork, and similar) are stored in the app's local storage on your device. We never access or receive copies of them.

PDF reports

When you generate a vet, sitter, or vaccination report, the PDF is created on your device from your own local records and shared using your device's native share sheet. We do not see or store a copy of any report you generate.

Subscription & purchase information

If you subscribe to Pet HQ, the transaction is handled by the Apple App Store and by our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (such as whether you're subscribed, and to which plan), but we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple and RevenueCat each process this information under their own privacy policies.

Product analytics

We use Mixpanel to understand how Pet HQ is used in aggregate — which screens get opened, and product events like adding a pet, logging a record, generating a report, or starting a subscription. These events are tied to a randomly generated device identifier, not to your name, email address, or any of your pets' actual health information — the content of your records, photos, and documents is never sent to Mixpanel. Mixpanel processes this information under its own privacy policy, available at mixpanel.com.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, physical location, or any advertising identifiers, and we do not use advertising trackers or cookies of any kind.

Data security

Information stored by Pet HQ is kept using your device's secure, OS-level storage. Because this data isn't transmitted to us, its security depends primarily on your device's own security — passcode, biometric lock, and so on.

Children's privacy

Pet HQ is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

You can edit or delete any pet, record, or document at any time within Pet HQ. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data associated with it — export a backup first if you want to keep it (see our Support page).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
