Privacy Policy

Costlane ("Costlane," "we," "us") is a mobile app that helps tradespeople build quotes, manage job templates, and keep track of clients and quote history. This policy explains what information Costlane collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Our approach

Costlane requires an account so that your quotes, templates, and client records are backed up and stay in sync across devices (and, in future, a web version). Your data is stored on our behalf by Supabase, our database and authentication provider, using industry-standard security practices. We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising trackers.

Information we collect

Account information

To create an account you provide an email address and password, or sign in with Apple. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive the private relay address Apple provides.

Quotes, templates, and client records

Costlane stores the job templates, quotes, and client records you create — this can include client names, contact details, job descriptions, and pricing you enter. This information is stored under your account so you can access it across devices. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to store your clients' details in the app, in the same way you'd be responsible for keeping that information in a notebook, spreadsheet, or CRM.

Business settings

Costlane stores account-level defaults you set, such as your trade, standing hourly rate, default buffer percentage, and VAT registration details, so they can be applied automatically to new quotes.

Subscription & purchase information

If you subscribe to Costlane Pro, the transaction is handled by the Apple App Store and by our subscription management provider, RevenueCat. We receive confirmation of your subscription status (such as whether you're subscribed, and to which plan), but we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple and RevenueCat each process this information under their own privacy policies.

Third parties we use

We rely on the following providers to operate Costlane, each of whom processes data under their own privacy policy:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and account storage.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple, and App Store purchase processing.
• RevenueCat — subscription management.

Data security

Your account data is protected by row-level security on our database, meaning only your authenticated account can read or write your own records. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Children's privacy

Costlane is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your clients, templates, and quotes at any time within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
